Dr. Silevitch, affectionately known as Dr. Adam, is a board certified pediatric dentist whose top priority is to provide patients with comprehensive pediatric dental care in a pleasant and compassionate environment. Dr. Adam currently practices with Advanced Dentistry of Scarsdale.
What Dr. Adam finds most gratifying in his profession is creating long-lasting bonds with his patients and their parents. In his own words, “I strive to make going to the dentist an amazing experience and something every child looks forward to!”
In addition to his primary role, Dr. Adam serves as an attending pediatric dentist at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and assumes the position of Assistant Clinical Professor at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.
Born and raised in the Boston area, Dr. Adam earned his Undergraduate Degree at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry Degree from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He then went on to complete specialized postgraduate training in pediatric dentistry at Columbia University, where he served as chief resident.
As a testament to his expertise and commitment, Dr. Adam proudly carries the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. His dedication to the field is further reflected in his active membership in various professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the New York Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (where he serves as the President of the Executive Committee), the Northeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry (in which he holds the roles of Secretary, Treasurer, and Immediate Past President), and the Columbia College of Dental Medicine Alumni Association.
Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through adolescence. Pediatric (also paediatric or pædiatric) dentists promote the dental health of children as well as serve as educational resources for parents.
Actively participating in dental outreach missions, Dr. Adam has traveled to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cape Verde, and Costa Rica to treat local children and families who lack access to dental care. Global healthcare equality is a personal passion of his, and one will often hear him saying “it fills my cup to give back”.
In his free time, Dr. Adam enjoys spending quality time with his two sons, Teddy and Evan, wife, Cierra, and dog, Luna. He loves his yoga and meditation practice, incorporating mindfulness into his everyday practice and patient care philosophy.
