At the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, she is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her teaching interest is in international physical medicine and rehabilitation with special interest in brain injury medicine.
After earning her medical degree with Honors from the University of Zulia, Venezuela, Dr. Valecillos completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York Medical College. There, she also received a 1-year training in psychiatry.
Focusing on a patient’s ability to function, she is board-certified in brain injury medicine & physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.
