Francis J. Amede, MD, a board-certified nephrologist and esteemed critical care consultant, is making significant strides in managing critically ill surgical patients in Houston, Texas. With a specialized focus on complex physiological responses associated with severe tissue injuries, Dr. Amede is recognized for his exceptional expertise in treating trauma, burns, infections, acute inflammation, and post-operative complications.

Dr. Amede’s extensive medical training, which began with his Medical Degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 1991, is complemented by a residency in internal medicine at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School (1994-1997) and fellowships in nephrology and critical care medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital (1997-1999) and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (2000-2001), respectively. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Amede is licensed to practice in multiple states, including Florida, Texas, California, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, and North Carolina, and is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center and Longview Regional Medical Center. His dedication to the field extends beyond clinical practice; he is an active member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Amede has taught as a professor at St. George’s University and has extensive experience in lecturing, public speaking, and teaching on local, national, and international platforms. Additionally, he has also made a global impact through his missionary work, including medical outreach in South Africa, showcasing his commitment to serving underprivileged communities.
