Widely recognized as a leader in his field, Dr. McGee is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Experienced in general orthopedic surgery and fracture care, he is the team physician for the College of Southern Nevada’s athletic programs. He is also involved with the Justin Boots Sportsmedicine Team, which provides care for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys, the Professional Bull Riders, and the National Finals Rodeo.
Growing up in Las Vegas, Dr. McGee attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. There, he received a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and also was a pitcher and outfielder on the winningest baseball team in Utah’s history. After college, he attended Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
Wanting to further his education, he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery in Chicago. Thereafter, he completed a one-year fellowship in sports medicine with Dr. Lawrence Lemak at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.
Active in teaching medical students and orthopedic surgery residents in training, Dr. McGee serves as an Adjunct Professor at Touro University Nevada. He is also a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
