Prior to that, he was director of Pediatric Intensive Care at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando. He is now the Medical Director of the CCK program, a treatment and diagnostic center for children with complex and rare illnesses.

Academically, Dr. Guedes earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville in 1969. He then went on to complete his residency in pediatrics at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center/Brooke Army Medical Center, followed by active duty. This was followed by a fellowship at UF Health Shands Hospital prior to moving to Orlando.
Following his education, he became board-certified in pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics, an independent, nonprofit organization whose certification is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a pediatrician, Dr. Guedes examines, diagnoses, and treats children of all ages with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses.
