What could be causing hearing loss in one ear?
If it is a sudden hearing loss, then it is most likely viral attack of the hearing nerve (8th CN). However if it is long term then you should go and see a ENT immediately. Most hearing loss is symmetrical and unilateral hearing loss can sometimes be an acoustic neuroma which is a benign tumor of the 8th cranial nerve, or the hearing nerve. Is tonsillectomy painful?
As an adult, yes very. Children do not have the same amount of pain. READ MORE
Can a CT scan show sinus problems?
If you are meaning a head CT then yes for the most part. Obviously a sinus CT scan will show everything. READ MORE

Cape Fear Otolaryngology, established in 2001 by Dr. Eric Mansfield, proudly continues to provide exceptional ear, nose, and throat care to the Fayetteville and Lumberton communities in North Carolina. His impressive journey began in Louisiana, where he was born, before moving to Columbus, Georgia, during his formative years. Dr. Mansfield pursued his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at Howard University in Washington, D.C., laying a strong foundation for his medical career. He then attended Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, earning his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1991. While at Morehouse, he was honored with the Family Practice Student Award, showcasing his dedication to patient-centered care from the outset of his career.
Following medical school, Dr. Mansfield completed a surgical residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. His exceptional skills and commitment to teaching earned him several accolades, including the Teaching Resident of the Year and the OWL Club Outstanding Resident Award. His tenure at Tulane culminated in a residency in otolaryngology from 1993 to 1996, where he served as Chief Resident in the Ear, Nose, and Throat program. He became board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery in 1998, further solidifying his expertise in the field.
