Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Sajin Pillai, who serves patients throughout the State of New York.

Recognized as a well-versed hospitalist, Dr. Pillai is affiliated with a number of hospitals and medical centers in New York and Ohio, including SUNY Downstate Medical Center, NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Mather Hospital, Trumbull Regional Medical Center, UH Richmond Medical Center, Coshocton Regional Medical Center, and HNI Healthcare.

Educated in Nepal, Dr. Pillai graduated with his medical degree from Universal College of Medical Sciences. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in 2013, and his fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 2015.

Specializing in the medical treatment of adults, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. Physicians whose primary professional focus is caring for hospitalized patients only while they are in the hospital are called hospitalists
