Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Kelley Redbord, who serves patients in Virginia 

 Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Redbord specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery, skin cancer, dermatologic surgery, cosmetic surgery, hyperhidrosis, and laser medicine. She is currently serving patients at Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Group of Northern Virginia, PLLC in Vienna, Virginia. “At Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Group of Northern Virginia, PLLC, our doctors are all board-certified dermatologists. In 2002, Dr. Redbord earned her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. After completing her dermatology residency as chief resident at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Redbord went on to complete her fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana, under the mentorship of Dr. C. William Hanke. 

Dr. Redbord is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD certifies physicians in dermatology, dermatopathology, and pediatric dermatology. It is one of 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).

To stay up to date in his field, Dr. Redbord is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgery, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the Washington, D.C. Dermatologic Society, and the International Hyperhidrosis Society. Furthermore, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). The AAD is one of the largest organizations of dermatologists in the world. It was founded in 1938 and represents 19,000 dermatologists in the United States, Canada, and around the world.

Additionally, Dr. Redbord has presented original research at local and national conferences. She has also written many articles on topics such as skin cancer, injectable fillers, photodynamic therapy, liposuction, facial nerve blocks, anesthesia, and laser medicine. Dr. Redbord has testified before governmental bodies, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and has met with members of Congress in support of numerous dermatological issues.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails, hair and its diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. Dermatologists are medical practitioners who specialize in treating conditions of the skin (most commonly acne), sunburn, and skin cancer. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.

In her spare time, Dr. Redbord enjoys running. She has completed 29 marathons and counting.
