Throughout her academic career, Dr. Brys received her medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the University of Rochester, where she was co-chief resident of the program. She completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Rousso Facial Plastic Surgery Clinic in Birmingham, Alabama, under the supervision of Dr. Daniel E. Rousso, an internationally renowned surgeon in the field. Her fellowship focused exclusively on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, nose, eyelids, and ears, utilizing the most advanced techniques available, including laser surgery and minimally invasive endoscopic facial plastic surgery. Dr. Brys also completed a rigorous fellowship in hair restoration surgery approved by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
The doctor’s extensive training provides her with unique expertise in surgery of the nose both to improve breathing and to improve appearance. She also uses state-of-the-art techniques, including computed tomography image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery and balloon sinuplasty. In addition, Dr. Brys is one of the few in the area to offer hair restoration to both men and women utilizing follicular unit hair transplantation.
As a testament to her success, she is board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which serves the public by ensuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification. She also holds board certification in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
In order to stay up to date in her field, she remains a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
