Robert Berkowitz, MD, PhD, FACC, is the Chief of Hackensack University Medical Center's Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension Program. He received his MD from the prestigious Yale University Medical School and his PhD in cellular-molecular biology from the University of California. Dr. Berkowitz has been instrumental in the development of treatment for advanced heart failure, and is on the scientific advisory board of ADHERE, a national heart failure registry. Berkowitz's extensive research and clinical achievements have made him the recipient of the award for 'Physician Research Achievement' from the Home Health Assembly of New Jersey. Dr. Berkowitz' Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension Program was also the recipient of the Robert Wood Johnson Pursuing Perfection grant.
