Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Michael C. Chabot, who serves patients in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Chabot is a highly trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the operative and non-operative treatment of neck and back conditions to include degenerative, congenital, trauma, and tumor related afflictions of the spine. He is a part of the team of professionals at Orthopedic Specialists in St. Louis, Missouri. 

The physicians at Orthopedic Specialists are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of orthopedic disorders. The specialists focus on conservative treatments before providing surgical intervention.

At present, Dr. Chabot is on staff at St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital, Missouri Baptist Medical Center, and St. Louis Spine and Orthopedic Surgery Center in Town and Country, Missouri. He also serves as a Resident Trainer for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program at St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital.

Pertaining to his medical background, Dr. Chabot earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Michigan State University. He then attended medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 1987. Furthering his training, he performed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, and his fellowship in spine surgery at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.

With a focus on the spine, neck, and back, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS). The AOBOS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system. 

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Chabot is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, the St. Louis Orthopedic Society, the Missouri State Orthopedic Association, the St. Louis Spine Society, and the American Osteopathic Association. He has also authored publications, gives presentations and participates in training in the latest techniques and treatments involving the spine.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

Among his numerous accolades, Dr. Chabot is the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2020), On-Time Doctor Award (2020), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2020).
