Ronald S. LaButti DO, FAOAO, received his medical degree in 1994 from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went to Brown University, where in 1995 he completed his internship. He followed with his residency at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine at the Tulsa Regional Medical Center in 1999 and a fellowship in 2000 in Lower Extremity and Joint Reconstruction at State University of New York at Buffalo at Buffalo General Hospital. Since beginning his career, Dr. LaButti has become a member of the Tulsa County Medical Society, the American Academy Orthopedic Society, the Oklahoma State Medical Association and a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. In 2010 LaButti was listed in the International Association of Orthopedic Surgeons & Leading Physicians of the World, and credits his success to great mentoring. Today he practices orthopaedic surgery at Central States Orthopedic Specialists, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

partial vs full joint replacment
The knee has three compartments. A partial replacement only resurfaces one compartment. A total replacement resurfaces all three compartments. With a partial replacement the other compartments can become affected by arthritis over time. This then requires a conversion of the partial to a total knee replacement. READ MORE
My knee grinds when I climb stairs. What can be done?
It sounds like some arthritis under your knee cap. Initial treatment for arthritis is usually conservative treatment like NSAIDS, physical therapy, injections. When the arthritis is "bone on bone" and pain is severe, constant and disabling then knee replacement is considered. READ MORE
