Located at Holtz Children’s Hospital, the Foundation for the Accreditation for Cellular Therapy (FACT) accredited PediatricBone Marrow/Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation program is the only university-based pediatric transplant program in South Florida. We are able to provide a transplant for any condition that requires this treatment.
If a family donor is available, allogeneic related donor transplants or haploidentical donor transplants are available as treatment options. Unfortunately, for most of children in need of a stem cell transplant, a family donor is not available. These patients are treated with unrelated donor or umbilical cord blood transplants. Furthermore, as a FACT accredited institution, we are able to offer transplant patients access to the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN), Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Consortium (PBMTC) for clinical trials that involve bone marrow transplant.
