Dell Robert Burkey, MD, began a career in medicine in 1977 after receiving his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. It was there that in 1978 and 1980 he completed both his internship and residency. Since then, Dr. Burkey has become a member of the American Association of Anesthesiologists, Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the International Anesthesia Research Society. He credits his success to hard work and enjoying what he does. Today, Burkey practices anesthesiology and critical care as a Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and works as Clinical Director of Outpatient Pain Clinic at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center.
