Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Najla N. Maalouf, who serves patients in Olathe, Kansas.

Recognized as a top pulmonologist with a focus on critical and intensive care, Dr. Maalouf diagnoses and treats patients who suffer from respiratory or breathing problems. She is in practice with Olathe Health Consultants in Pulmonary Medicine.

For more than 60 years, Olathe Medical Center has expanded its services to meet the growing needs of the community. It is a not-for-profit medical center with 300 beds and has a network of practicing physicians specializing in nearly every area of medicine. A 2006 graduate of the American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Maalouf went on to perform her internship and residency in internal medicine at the same educational venue. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Louis University Hospital in 2011, followed by her fellowship at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2014.

Placing value on theoretical and practical knowledge, she is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. A pulmonologist is an internal medicine physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes, and the respiratory system, including the nose, pharynx, and throat.
