Your surgeon needs to see the sores. They could be from pressure on you oral tissue or could be a virus. The pressure sores are a side effect of the procedure. A preexisting virus could have been activated due to the trauma of the procedure. READ MORE

After obtaining his high school diploma from Xavier High School in 1971, Dr. LaMorte went on to complete his Bachelor of Science degree at St. Peter’s University, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1975. From there, he went on to pursue his dental training, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1979. Three years later, in 1982, he obtained a Certificate in Periodontics from the New York Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Known for his professional leadership, Dr. LaMorte is a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry and the Chair of the New Jersey Section of the American College of Dentists. He is also a frequent presenter at professional association programs, lecturing on many different subjects related to periodontics, implant dentistry, and 3D imaging.
Periodontology is the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them. A periodontist specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, and in the placement of dental implants. They are familiar with the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating periodontal disease and are trained in cosmetic periodontal procedures and grafting procedures to rebuild lost bone and gum tissue.
A national leader in dentistry, Dr. LaMorte is the author of the book ‘Healthy Smile, Healthy Body!’, which is designed to help patients make an informed decision about some of the forms of treatment to restore their oral health, and discuss ways to care for their teeth. It addresses five critical topics that impact immediate concerns of oral health as well as total body health; oral hygiene, gum diseases, treatment, dental implants, and receding gums.
Providing expert dental care for over four decades, Dr. LaMorte has been recognized year after year as one of ‘America’s Top Dentists.’ Since May of 2013, he has been serving as a Campmaster Corps for the Patriots’ Path Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is also a supporter of the American Radio Relay League.
