Navita Modi, M.D. is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG). Dr. Modi has been in practice for nearly Fourteen years. Dr. Modi is Board certified (Diplomat of American Board of OBGYN) and has taken certified trainings to perform minimally invasive surgeries utilizing the most current technology in the surgical arena – da Vinci and Olympus 3-D. Dr. Modi’s interests include strong commitment to patient education, research in women’s health care, and teaching. Dr. Modi has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of women’s diseases, especially dealing with the female reproductive system, performing advanced gynecologic surgeries, including diagnostic, emergency, and Urogyn procedures. Dr. Modi has an outstanding ability to provide care with emphasis on a holistic approach, treating the female patient as a physical, emotional, and social being. It can be any of the above, but do not become paranoid. Most of the time, it is simply ingrown hair and a person gets nervous. I do not think it is herpes because, most of the time, herpes is very painful, but just to be on the safe side you, should see your ob/gyn. READ MORE

You need to see your ob/gyn so she can do your cultures and also do some blood work. Most likely you need to go on suppression therapy. Hopefully, that will take care of your recurrent infection. READ MORE

Yes, you may have PCOS. It decreases insulin resistance and then helps you to regulate your cycle if you are overweight. READ MORE

What is the best way to deal with my menstraul cramps?
You can start yourself on ocps or depo shot or take high dose nsaids but on the other hand you have to make sure you have no endometriosis so you might need a surgical procedure called laparoscopy READ MORE
What does a watery discharge mean?
It can be from multiple reasons. You need to see your obgyn to make sure there is no STD. She will make sure you do not have STDs. READ MORE
Why does my period last longer than they did before?
It can be from multiple reasons: it can be hormonal imbalance, or there can be an underlying pathology. You need blood work and imaging and need to see your obgyn. READ MORE

Do not worry, the best thing you can do is practice safe sex and also make sure your partner is also treated, and always use condoms during sexual activity. READ MORE

Your treatment is a healthy diet and exercise. Please do not go for medications. Everyday, 30 minutes of exercise or simple walking can help you. READ MORE
My friend has taken abortion pills which is causing heavy bleeding. Does this mean she requires a D&C or is it normal?
Just wait. If it continues more than 6 days, she needs to see her obgyn. Sometimes, it is part of the normal process, but in case the bleeding is too heavy, she should not wait for 6 days. READ MORE

Pertaining to her educational background, Dr. Modi received her medical degree from Guru Gobind Singh Medical College in 1996. Thereafter, she went on to complete her residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C. in 2004.

Shortly thereafter, she became board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and critical care medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Among her professional affiliations, she is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Ohio State Medical Association. She attributes her success to her passion for continuing her education while receiving support from her family.

Obstetrics and gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).

Throughout her professional career, Dr. Modi has published various research papers and articles. She has also received recognition awards for her outstanding performances, including being named one of America’s Top OB/GYNs by the Consumer’s Research Council of America, among others.
