Navita Modi, M.D. is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG). Dr. Modi has been in practice for nearly Fourteen years. Do not rush for medications, not everybody needs medication for menopause. There are other behavioral methods you can use in your life. READ MORE
Why am I experiencing pain during intercourse?
There can be lots of reasons: sometimes it can be a simple infection or sometimes it is endometriosis. I will advise you to see your ob/gyn. READ MORE
What foods should I avoid during my pregnancy?
Please avoid fish, and also avoid food which has lots of fat and carbs. READ MORE
After I use an MTP kit, how long will I continue to bleed?
Wait for a week or two. If bleeding continues after that, you should see your ob/gyn, but anyway, your bleeding should not be heavy. In that case, you need to see your ob/gyn. READ MORE
How often should you have your IUD replaced?
It depends what kind of IUD you have. If it is Mirena, it comes out in 5 years, and if it is CU IUD, it comes out in 10 years, and if it is Skyla, it comes out in 3 years. READ MORE
Extended heavy menstrual cycle
I advise her to visit her ob/gyn. Sometimes it can be hormonal changes for menopausal reasons or there can be underlying pathology. She may need imaging, too, but I don’t think it is malignancy again. READ MORE
Can sperm count be increased with exercise?
It can, but not that effective. You should consult a reproductive endocrinologist; they have ways to inject sperm like IUI (means intrauterine insemination). READ MORE
Is it safe to have oral sex during pregnancy?
I do not think so, there is no literature saying that it can cause any problems. READ MORE
Why do I have a lot of white discharge?
Not at all, it is not serious. It can be a yeast infection. Sometimes when you sweat it happens. I suggest you visit your ob/gyn and get checked. READ MORE
Why am I gaining weight despite of exercise and diet?
Yes, absolutely. Visit your ob/gyn and tell her to check you for Polycystic syndrome. READ MORE
I missed my period by 1 week. I want to take a pregnancy test. When should I?
You can do it now. If it comes back negative and you do not get your period, check it again in a week. READ MORE
What are the risks of high blood pressure in the sixth month of pregnancy?
To have high blood pressure in pregnancy is not a good thing. It can cause lot of problems like placental abruption, DIC, eclampsia, or fetal demise, so I would visit an ob/gyn to get checked. READ MORE
My period came 10 days early. Is this a problem?
To be on safe side, I will advise you to do a pregnancy test and also, if it is negative, wait for another week. If your period does not come in another week, then you should visit your ob/gyn for a hormonal panel. READ MORE
What can cause redness and itching around my vagina?
It can be allergic dermatitis. Make sure you did not use anything new which turned out to be allergic to your local area and also, quite possibly, it is not a fungal infection. Please visit your ob/gyn. READ MORE
