Will a chiropractor be able to help me with my hip pain in the 5 month of my pregnancy?
Definitely yes, but of course it will depend on the cause of the pain. During pregnancy, the pelvis ligaments are stretched for so long that it causes a lot of low back pain. Sometimes, the hip pain may be originating in another area of the body like for example the lumbar spine (low back). Another point to consider is where is ur pain because most people refer to the hip, but when in the office point to the pelvis. It may be due to several reasons and telling you a specific one would not be appropriate. It could be a nutritional imbalance, brain problem (Central Nervous System), nerves in the arms among others. She should get a proper medical evaluation before jumping into conclusions. READ MORE

Experiencing numbness and pain after elbow fracture treatment. Why is this happening?
It depends on the type of fracture that you experienced. If they did surgery the healing process of the body develops scar tissue that may be compressing a nerve. Swelling may also compress nerves causing those symptoms. Make an appointment with your doctor and get an evaluation. READ MORE

Is fertility reduced with spina bifida?
Spina bifida is where the mother is deficient in Folic acid (vit B9) during early stages of pregnancy. The condition is characterized by incomplete formation of the back components of the vertebras. Depending on the severity of the condition the patient may show neurological signs and symptoms. Spinal restrictions may interfere with nervous system performance (like dimming down the intesity of the light, the light bulb is still on but not at full capacity) affecting nerves and organs that depends on them. I would strongly recommend you to get evaluated by a chiropractor as lumbar spine, pelvis and sacrum manual manipulation could greatly benefit both of you. Is drug/medication free and it will help you improve your nervous performance. Sexual organs like testes depends on nerves that branch off nerve roots coming out of the spine. At this point I have not seen a case of spina bifida that does not qualify for chiropractic care, but again you need to get evaluated and have X Rays of the area. READ MORE
My back hurts when I sit down. Why?
Back pain may be cause by a variety of reasons including but not limited to poor posture, one leg longer than the other, feet problems, vertebral misalignment and/or motion restrictions. Pain may be coming from a joint called the Sacroiliac joint which is between the pelvic bone and the sacrum (bone where the tail bone comes from). Muscle spasms and unbalance may provoke it also. But first: 1. For how long the back pain has been there? 2. Have you had any falls, accidents or trauma involving the area? 3. How old are you? 4. Any current medications? 5. How did it begin?
