    Unfortunately, there is no medical or surgical intervention that has been shown to be effective for treatment of high-pitched ringing. Acoustic sedation measures of the best methodology as well as potentially biofeedback mechanisms. Over-the-counter medications are not useful. READ MORE

    We do not recommend cotton tip applicators to cleanse the external ear. Topical use of hydrogen peroxide softens external ear canal plaques which needs then to be irrigated clear. Use of warm water irrigation is helpful after use of the peroxide cleansing solutions. READ MORE

  • Can a sinus infection go away on its own?

    The majority of sinus infections and inflammations are temporary and presumed secondary to an acute viral incident. Bacterial infections are infrequent and for the most part sinus symptoms can be alleviated with the use of topical saline irrigations. READ MORE

Get to know Otolaryngologist Dr. James A. Hadley, who serves patients in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Practicing ear, nose and throat medicine and surgery for over 39 years with passion for treating adults and children of all ages, Dr. Hadley works in the office of Dr. Mark Montgomery at the ENT Specialty Care Center in Bonita Springs, bringing evidence-based medical  treatment to patients in Lee and Collier counties in Florida. He specializes in medical and surgical care of patients with general otolaryngology problems and with an emphasis in medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses as well as head and neck surgery.

In regards to his educational background, he received his medical degree from the University of Bordeaux II Faculty of Medicine in France in 1979. After completing his medical internship at Greenwich Hospital (Yale) and his surgical internship at Saint Raphael’s Hospital (Yale), he went on to complete his residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 1983.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in otolaryngology through the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, which is a non-profit corporation that has set the mission of ensuring professional standards with certificates and memberships and has offered training in the fields of head neck surgery to professionals since 1924.

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Hadley is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society (FARS), Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (FAAOA), and Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery (FAAO-HNS).

Among his other roles, he has served as an attending physician at the Naples Community Hospital since 2017. In the past, he maintained hospital privileges at the Landmark Hospital of Naples (2017-2021), Physicians Regional Medical Center (2010-2018), Unity Health System Hospitals (1990-2010), and Rochester General Hospital (1983-2010).

With a passion for teaching, Dr. Hadley is a Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Central Florida, and served as an accredited full professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center for over 30 years.

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Pediatric otolaryngologists are primarily concerned with medical and surgical treatment of ear, nose, and throat diseases in children. They generally provide the following services: diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, and throat disorders, as well as head and neck diseases.

Highly regarded by his peers and patients, Dr. Hadley has been nominated among Castle Connolly’s "America's Top Doctors" (2006-2022), and awarded "Best Doctors" for the past 18 years. He has also been the recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award (2018), Distinguished Service Award for Meritorious Service from the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery Foundation (2004, 2018), Golden Head Mirror Award for Excellence in Teaching by the American Rhinologic Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching, Florida Top Doctor Award (2017-2022), Top Doctor Award by Gulfshore Magazine (2012-2021), Patients' Choice Award (2020, 2018), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2020, 2018), and On-Time Doctor Award (2020).
