A visionary who works tirelessly for his patients and their well-being, his diverse life experiences and elite medical training has prepared him for current day and future challenges in the ever-changing landscape of healthcare. Established in 1976, Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates is one of the largest gastroenterology practices in the country dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of both digestive and liver diseases. The providers are committed to providing patients with the most appropriate and cost-effective healthcare available in a comfortable and compassionate setting. They are specially trained to coordinate patient care and ensure that all medical needs are met, making the practice a right choice for those with digestive problems. Professionally, Dr. Holly has served on the Physician Executive Committee of Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in the past, helping to establish policy and governance for the practice. His exposure to being on this committee further prepared him to acquire the complex understanding of the social, personal, and business aspects that are a requisite to cultivate a progressive, successful medical practice. He received his medical degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. While in medical school, he was a recipient of the Syntex Research Scholarship, which allowed him to work with Dr. Lawrence P. Scheving, a world-renowned authority on chronobiology. Following his internship and residency in internal medicine at Emory University affiliated hospitals, he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at St. Louis University Health Sciences Center in St. Louis, Missouri. While there, he was mentored by Dr. Bruce R. Bacon, one of the world’s foremost authorities in the field of hepatology, specifically hemochromatosis. Before joining Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates, Dr. Holly was in private practice in Jackson, Tennessee for four years. In affiliation with numerous medical associations, he is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Gastroenterological Association. Having published several articles in journals, he is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Providing “state of the art” healthcare to his patients and community service has been the cornerstone of Dr. Holly’s career. He has volunteered with Hosea Feed the Hungry, which provides meals, healthcare services, clothes, and spiritual renewal to the homeless.
