Get to know Diagnostic Radiologist Dr. Khaleda Billah, who serves patients in Brooklyn, New York.

A top diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Billah is the lead mammographer and Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Interfaith Medical Center.

Interfaith Medical Center is a hospital located in Brooklyn, New York. With facilities in Crown Heights, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Prospect Heights, it is a full-service non-profit community hospital that has 287 beds and serves more than 11,000 inpatients each year.

Regarding her educational background, Dr. Billah graduated with her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Dhaka Medical College in 1974. She then went on to perform an internship at Booth Memorial Medical Center in 1978 and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Interfaith Medical Center in 1982.

Furthering her education, she pursued training in ultrasound with BronxCare Health System from 1982 until 1985.

Sharing her medical /science knowledge with the general public and young generation in medical fields, Dr. Billah has enjoyed her privileges to work at several hospitals as well as teach medical residents and students in New York for the last three decades.

To date, she remains an active member of the American Medical Association and the Bangladesh Medical Association of North America.

Diagnostic radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. The tests and equipment used sometimes involve low doses of radiation to create highly detailed images of an area. A diagnostic radiologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating disease and injury, using medical imaging techniques such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET), fusion imaging, and ultrasound.

On a more personal note, Dr. Billah speaks multiple languages, including English, Bengali, Urdu, and Hindi.
