Dr. Aftab attended King Edward Medical University, where he graduated with his Medical Degree in 1999, giving him over a decade of experience in his field.

After obtaining his Medical Degree Dr. Aftab completed his internship and residency with NSLIJHS-Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center Program in 2006. Following his internship and residency, he undertook fellowship with Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine Program and the Baylor College of Medicine Program.

Dr. Aftab currently practices with the University of Colorado. He specializes in adult cardiac surgery including surgery for thoracic aortic aneurysm, open and endovascular thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic repair, heart valve surgery, high-risk reoperation surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery and percutaneous valve treatment.
