As a general rule, acupuncture doesn't cause itching. Acupuncture moves energy through the meridians of the body, so it is a possibility that a sensation of itching could occur. I have practiced for years and I don't recall anyone having itching. READ MORE

Yes, acupuncture can be done daily. The flow of energy gets started with the first placement of the first needle and remains actively working for 24 hours. It could benefit certain situations to have acupuncture daily to really help the body move out of a chronic dysfunctional pattern. READ MORE

There are many different acupuncture points that help with fertility. If you are choosing to have acupuncture treatments, you may have needles placed in your back, abdomen, arms and legs. How long does it take for acupuncture to work for anxiety?
That's a good question. Anxiety can be treated almost immediately with acupuncture. Acupuncture treatments generally have a relaxing effect on the body and mind during the treatment. Acupuncture changes patterns of energy movement in the body so in order to maintain the change from the treatment, additional treatments should follow. I usually recommend 4-6 treatments to make a change, but with each treatment the patient will feel a sensation of relaxation and decreased anxiety. READ MORE

Does acupuncture hurt?
Most people don't experience pain when getting an acupuncture treatment. The needles are "hairlike" (very thin). There may be a slight sensation of the needle going in but that sensation is not long lasting. Most people experience a very relaxing sensation and rest easily for the 20-30 minute treatment. Are acupuncture needles reused?
Acupuncture needles come in sterile packaging and used only once and then disposed of as biohazard materials. You can set your friend's fears to rest. Although, there is some validity to their concerns. When acupuncture was first practiced each patient would receive a certain number of needles and they would be labeled with that patient's information. They were sterilized after each use and only brought out for that individual patient. This is not done in our world today. How often should I go for acupuncture?
It may help to go more often if your pain is continual. I recommend once a week for 4 times and then start moving the appointments out a bit. Your body is trying to mend a chronic condition and acupuncture is assisting in that healing. Sometimes it takes a few treatments, close together to get more relief. Good luck! READ MORE
