Is this possible with a slipped disc?
Yes, both problems can happen at the same time. The neuropathy is a nerve "neuro" pathology "pathy." The slipped disc is a degenerative spine problem when a disc component is compressing a nerve root in the canal or in the space to exit the spinal canal. Causes of neuropathy are sometimes metabolic (diabetes, thyroid problems) or inflammatory (from autoimmune antibodies). An EMG/NCV can determine of only one nerve is involved or if the neuropathy is affecting multiple nerves. The CT or MRI of the lumbar spine can show the degenerative disc disease. READ MORE
