Can more than one condition be treated in an acupuncture session?
It may. If the treatment focus is on underlining imbalance in your body, it can have positive effect on many issues at once. However some times more "surface issue" like acute pain may be primary focus of treatment and in those cases only one issue will be focused on before moving to another. READ MORE
When is acupuncture not recommended?
There are some issues when acupuncture is not recommended. But, it is better said when specific points are not recommended. Example, we would not use points on a pregnant mom that can cause contractions if she is to early in pregnacy. If person is depleted from injury, sickness,s or age to some extream, it is important not to over drain some points. So it is not a no acupuncture policy, it is more a no points on specific cases policy. READ MORE

Can acupunture decrease my body weight?
Acupuncture can help with weight in couple of ways: 1) it can reduce cravings, normally with some ear points just as used in smoking cravings; 2) if something is unbalanced in how your body processes food, body points can help that if it's the case. However, you can eat through whatever treatment is used, so if an over-eating diet continues, unfortunately, the treatments can only do so much. READ MORE

Will I have to get acupuncture throughout my life?
Most truthful answer to that is many times the treatments needed will last according to how long you had pain. So, if it is an issue you have had for 20yrs, then most likely yes, you would need to get treatment as a maintenance, something like taking a pain pill, it may not be needed every week once pain goes away, but it most likely will come back in a reduced state. If it is a fairly new pain, less treatment may get rid of it all together. READ MORE

Does acupuncture help in treating skin disorders?
Now this is just my personal experience, skin issues is one of the hardest things to treat. Now, if from Chinese med side of evaluation, we could find what is causing the issue lets say because of digestion, then, yes, you would have better shot than lets say a genetic cause. Needles are good for most issues, but with skin you may need needles and herbs. I personally do not do herbs, so, if you call an acupuncturist with herbal experience, I would think you may have a higher % chance to help your sister. READ MORE
