I have recently got my braces fixed and they seem to be cutting into the skin of my mouth. What to do?
It is common with braces to have some initial irritation and soreness with the gums and cheeks. They will toughen up over time and wax or a small piece of wet cotton will help reduce the discomfort. If it’s one particular spot causing a bad ulcer I would call the orthodontist and see if you need to get the wire trimmed. READ MORE
After five weeks of completing my braces treatment my tooth hurts.
The discomfort could be caused by normal wear with the retainer. Make sure you do not skip days wading them too because that could cause the pain due to teeth moving. Finally, if your front teeth are hitting hard with the opposing teeth when you bite down this can also cause discomfort. I would recommend going back to your orthodontist to check your bite and they can usually adjust it after the braces come off. READ MORE
