Dr. Darcy Murphy is a Dentist practicing in New Westminster, British Columbia since 2004 Dr. Murphy specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases and conditions associated with the mouth and overall dental health. Dr Murphy performs many treatments such as white fillings, root canals, dental implants, Botox, cosmetic dentistry, Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST) and many more. Dr Darcy Murphy graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2003. He had the honour of being elected Class President, President of the Dental Society and Class Valedictorian. He later was accepted into a one year Dentistry General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. It only took one Alberta winter to drive Dr. Murphy to Beautiful British Columbia where he has been practicing dentistry in New Westminster since 2004. Dr. Murphy also volunteers his time and service to the British Columbia Coroners Service (BCCS) as a Forensic Odontologist. He is presently one of three forensic odontologists that takes call on behalf of the Bureau of Legal Denistry (BOLD) called in by the coroners service to identify human remains. He is an active member of the British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA), College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia (CDSBC), British Columbia Forensic Odontology Response Team (BC-FORT), Canadian Dental Association (CDA), International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Dr. Murphy has also published dental research articles in the following journals; Biomaterials, Journal of the Canadian Dental Association, Quintessence International and the International Journal of Prosthodontics. Get to know Dentist Dr. Darcy Murphy, who serves the population of New Westminster and surrounding areas in British Columbia. Dr. Murphy graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Dalhousie University in 2003, giving him over a decade worth of experience in his field. During his time there he was elected as Class President, President of the Dental Society and Class Valedictorian. After obtaining his Degree he then completed a one year Dentistry General Practice Residency at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. To stay up to date in his field Dr. Murphy remains a professional member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, British Columbia Dental Association, College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Canadian Dental Association. In 2016,, he was inducted as a Fellow into the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA). The Academy awards distinguished members and role models for their contributions to the field of dentistry. Dr. Murphy has also published dental research articles in the following journals; Biomaterials, Journal of the Canadian Dental Association, Quintessence International and the International Journal of Prosthodontics. Dr. Murphy has spent time volunteering in Nicaragua and Guatemala to provide dental care to the indigenous people in the remote areas of the country. Back home he volunteers his time and service to the British Columbia Coroners Service as a Forensic Odontologist. He is presently one of three forensic odontologists that takes call on behalf of the Bureau of Legal Dentistry called in by the coroners service to identify human remains. He currently owns and practices at Queen’s Park Dental where he provides an array of dental services including family dentistry, dental implants, Botox, cosmetic crowns and bridges, root canals, teeth whitening and Invisalign. General dentists provide a wide variety of services that are vital to patients’ continued health. These services include: preventive services — helping to maintain good oral health by stopping disease before it takes hold in the mouth; restorative services — receiving timely and appropriate treatment when a problem is identified; as well as cosmetic services — performing a range of cosmetic procedures, such as teeth whitening, cosmetic bonding – even porcelain veneers. General dentists also address overall health concerns, as oral health is seen as the mirror of general health. In fact, some dental problems may reflect issues in other parts of the body and vice versa.
