Dr. Nels Chellen is a Chiropractor practicing in Minnetonka, MN. Dr. Chellen specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions associated with the neuromusculoskeletal system while improving each patient's functionality and quality of life. Conditions treated include sciatica, neck pain, and arthritis pain, motor vehicle accident and sports injuries, and many others.
After careful examination and consideration of the health status of each patient to determine the appropriateness of treatment choices, Dr. Chellen first seeks to reduce pain and discomfort. Additionally, his goal is to improve the functionality of movement and a patient's ability to perform the tasks of daily living. If a patient has personal activities related to work or recreation, the treatment plan also addresses maximizing performance in these.
As a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Chellen's foundational treatment regimen will include manipulation and adjustment of the spine. Adjustments to re-align and liberate immobile and/or out-of-alignment joints may also include those in the lower limbs, upper limbs, and even the jaw. Besides manipulation/adjustments of the joints, Dr. Chellen has extensive knowledge and skill in the rebalancing of the "soft-tissues", eg. muscles, fascia, tendons, through the hands-on techniques of myofascial release therapy and neuromuscular therapy.
Because his goal is to get his patients better as quickly as possible, Dr. Chellen often assigns his patients some "homework". This usually includes corrections to postural habits, techniques in better body mechanics while performing daily duties and sporting or recreational activities, and specific strengthening and stretching exercises to help rebuild and stabilize weak areas.

How can I straighten my spine naturally?
This is not a simple question to answer given that I know nothing about your spine and your health history. There is a multitude of factors that need to be considered and it would be best to take advantage of a complimentary consultation offered by a doctor of chiropractic to that you have been referred to. You can also educate yourself by using resources available at your library on the subject of spinal health. Good luck and good health! READ MORE
Are posture correctors worth it?
In short, no. However, not knowing any of your health histories, it is impossible for anyone to give you their best advice. Minimally, the best corrector of posture is not from a package, but from your own posture consciousness and determination to stand and sit up straight and strengthen your body to support your frame.
