At the start of his medical career, Dr. Elkhalili earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine in the Caribbean. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College before gaining certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
With a background in research, Dr. Elkhalili frequently publishes in journals such as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
