Dr. Daniel Barone has been in practice for over 12 years and in that time has become known across New York as a foremost expert in sleep medicine. His medical career began in 2006 when he graduated from the New York Medical College in Valhalla. Dr. Barone then completed an internship at Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center and a residency at the Beth Israel Medical Center. This was followed by a fellowship in sleep disorders at the Stony Brook University Medical Center in New York. Dr. Barone is board certified in both Neurology and Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He treats patients across the age spectrum for a diverse range of sleep related conditions including narcolepsy, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and insomnia, and is author of the acclaimed book, ‘Let’s Talk About Sleep: A Guide To Understanding And Improving Your Slumber.’ Dr. Barone is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and of the American Academy of Neurology, and he currently serves as Assistant Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience at the Weill Cornell Medical College. Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems (and their subdivisions – the autonomic and somatic nervous systems), including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle. Neurological practice relies heavily on the field of neuroscience, which is the scientific study of the nervous system.
