How do you get rid of cavities naturally?
None that I am aware of. Fluoride mouthwash or gel may slow it it down, but the longer you wait, the more tooth damage occurs. READ MORE

Gums recede as bone is lost. Age is a factor, as are poor oral hygiene and teeth grinding. READ MORE
Would my dentures be considered a prosthesis?
Usually no for a prosthesis, unless it is a replacement of teeth from a medical procedure, i.e., surgical removal of a cancerous lesion. If there is sufficient bone on both your jaws, you might be a candidate for implants. READ MORE
Do wisdom tooth abscesses take a long time to heal?
If you are talking about a dry socket, it will take some time to heal, maybe a couple of weeks. If it is an actual abscess, then it will require antibiotics and it should clear up within a week. READ MORE

Do I need antibiotics for a tooth extraction?
No unless you are having an infection or you have a medical condition which requires prophylactic coverage as per your physicians recommendation. Check with your MD to see if you have a condition which requires pre-surgical coverage. READ MORE
How can gingivitis be treated?
Try warm salt water rinses, a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water rinse a few times per,day brush and floss 2x times a day. It is best to see your dentist before it develops in to a more severe condition, which would require a periodontist. READ MORE

By using a reputable dentist tooth whitening is safe if it is not done in excess. READ MORE
Would I need to take opioids after my extraction?
Not really. If the oral surgeon gives you a long lasting anesthetic such as marcaine, you don't need heavy duty opioids. If he does not give you marcaine, ask the surgeon to give you another dose of anesthetic before you leave and then take the prescribed pain medication as soon as you get home even while you are numb. Can teeth grinding cause headaches?
Possibly. See if you can: 1) before going to sleep lips together and teeth apart a few times or 2) See your dentist for a night guard to prevent damage to your teeth ) if headaches persist, see your MD or a neurologist READ MORE

Needed only when a nerve dies inside a tooth and the tooth can be saved. Deep decay is usually the cause for a nerve to die. READ MORE
How can I tell if I'm grinding my teeth?
Sounds like you are grinding or clenching your teeth. Remedies include a hard plastic night guard or mouth piece, try saying lips together mouth apart before going to sleep. Have your dentist check your occlusion (bite) to make sure there are no high spots which you may be trying to subconsciously grind down. Check to see if your teeth are appearing flat on the biting surfaces. READ MORE
My child accidentally ate toothpaste. What should I do?
It will depend on how much she ate, but I don't think it should be a problem, in my personal opinion. You need to keep the toothpaste in a safe place out of your child's reach. READ MORE

Can my silver fillings be replaced with white fillings?
Yes, you can, but why? There is an old saying: "If it is not broken, don't try to fix it." The "silver" fillings are a good material and are more reliable than the "white" fillings, which can expand and contract with temp changes, making them more susceptible to recurrent decay. READ MORE
