James O. Born and raised in New Mexico, Dr. Gonzales has a deep-rooted commitment to his community. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from the Anderson School of Management and completed his medical training at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Following his education, he honed his skills in family medicine during his residency at Texas Tech University, where he developed a passion for serving diverse populations.

Dr. Gonzales’s career is marked by a dedication to public service, having begun his journey with the state of New Mexico and the Army National Guard. His experiences span from the American Southwest to the deserts of the Middle East and the green landscapes of Europe, where he has treated and diagnosed patients in various settings.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gonzales serves as an Associate Professor at both the University of New Mexico and Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he shares his extensive knowledge with residents and medical students, shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. Furthermore, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.

In his spare time, Dr. Gonzales enjoys family activities, basketball, and running, reflecting his belief in the importance of a balanced lifestyle.
