    Typically, the endodontist don't want you to take pain medication especially if they haven't seen you for a consultation. The endodontist ave to test and confirm the symptoms that you were experiencing in relation to the clinical test results before arriving at a diagnosis. The pain medication may masks the pain and will not be able to reproduce the symptoms you were experiencing.
