Get to know Pain Management Specialist Dr. Lew Anthony Little, who serves patients in Englewood, Florida.
Dr. Little is a compassionate, pain management specialist with an overwhelming will to treat patients while simultaneously educating them to treat themselves. After becoming the Medical Director of St. Anthony Health Care in 2012, he was steadfast in becoming an addiction specialist and trained as a Suboxone/Buprenorphine provider.
The doctor is a member of the Florida Medical Association, the American Academy of Pain Management, the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the American Medical Association. He also performs interventional pain procedures in his own facility that was built in 2015.
Following the (super) majority vote in favor of medical cannabis in 2016, he was also quick to become a physician registered with the Florida Department of Health’s Office of Compassionate Use. He did so with extensive training and experience in regards to chronic pain, and with Surgeon General and CDC guidelines in mind – regarding the country’s opioid epidemic.
Alongside additional modalities for chronic pain management, Dr. Little is delighted to have the opportunity to provide cannabinoid treatments with content in the scholarly research of its efficacy in treating the listed conditions and with a lower risk of addiction than many other medications on the market today.
Both an educator and a learner, Dr. Little’s education began by graduating with an Associate of Science degree in Pre-Medicine at Burlington County Community College, and with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Stockton University, where he excelled with Cum Laude honors. He then went on to attend St. George’s University School of Medicine to gain a diverse international perspective and earn his medical degree. He continued on to complete his internship of internal medicine at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in affiliation with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following this, he pursued residency in anesthesiology at SUNY – Brooklyn Downstate Medical Center and a fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
