Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Tina Ziainia, who serves patients in San Diego, California.

Dr. Ziainia is a well-respected obstetrician-gynecologist in practice with Sharp Rees-Stealy Scripps Ranch in San Diego, California. The medical clinic offers comprehensive medical services to those living and working in Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa, Rancho Peñasquitos and Sabre Springs.

In practice since 2000, Dr. Ziainia is also affiliated with other hospitals that are a part of the Sharp HealthCare network, including Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns, and Sharp Memorial Hospital.

Licensed to practice medicine in California and Missouri, she is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. 

While pursuing an academic career, Dr. Ziainia earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. 

In order to stay up to date in her field, she remains a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopy, and the San Diego County Medical Society. 

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health. 

Working hard, being determined, and having very supportive parents is what Dr. Ziainia attributes her success to. She is the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2009, 2010, 2015) and On-Time Doctor Award (2009, 2014, 2015).  Selected as Top Docs San Diego (2013,2014, 2016,2017,2018,2019,2021).

Outside of practicing medicine, she enjoys traveling, reading, and exercising.
