  • Can I rinse my mouth with hydrogen peroxide?

Yes, you can. The hydrogen peroxide usually sold in grocery and drug stores is 3%. Research indicates that 1.5% is effective against coronavirus and can be beneficial in fighting the oral bacteria associated with periodontal disease. To get to 1.5%, just use equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water. You don't need much: about 2 tablespoons of each is plenty. Do not mix it until you are ready to use it. Or, use Colgate Peroxyl. Swish for a full 30 seconds then spit out. Do not swallow it. Once a day is usually enough, and bedtime is a good time. Excessive use raises concerns about a carcinogenic [cancer causing] effect. The best treatment is still the one dentists and dental hygienists have recommended for years: brush and floss daily to decrease the number of bacteria in the mouth. READ MORE
