Varoosh Alaverdian, MD, FACOG, is a retired physician working per-diem for the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Bellflower, California.  Dr. Alaverdian works specifically with pregnant and non-pregnant women, with a special interest in analyzing abnormal Pap Smear results.  In the past, he worked for the same hospital as the Director of the colposcopy, laser and leep clinics, as well as Director of the OBGYN department for close to 30 years.  From 1976-2006, he was a clinical associate OBGYN professor at UCLA, one of America's top medical schools. Today, he is president of the Armenian American Medical Society of California.
