Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Jose Nieto, who serves patients in The Villages & Leesburg, Florida.

A board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Nieto is an associate with Gastroenterology and Nutrition of Central Florida, seeing patients out of the offices in The Villages & Leesburg. He specializes in pancreatobiliary diseases, advanced endoscopic procedures that include therapeutic ERCP, EUS, and third space endoscopy.

Furthering his education, Dr. Nieto completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at UCLA Medical Center in 2006, followed by advanced endoscopy training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.

Dedicated to surgical excellence, he is board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine, Dr. Nieto is also a Diplomate of the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons (NBPAS). The NBPAS is a pro-physician organization, reducing practice burdens, advocating for necessary changes, and supporting professional development and lifelong learning goals.

Holding fellowship status, Dr. Nieto is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGAF), a Fellow of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (FASGE), and a Fellow of the Florida Gastroenterologic Society (FFGS).
