Joel S. Buchalter, MD, is a founding partner for Somers Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Carmel, NY.  He also serves as Co-Director of the Orthopaedic Institute at Putnam Hospital Center.  A specialist in multiple shock trauma, Dr. Buchalter completed additional training in this topic following his residency at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.  In addition to working at Somers, Dr. Buchalter also serves the New York University School of Medicine as a clinical assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery.
