Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Stephanie A. Trautman, who serves patients throughout the State of Oregon.
Dr. Trautman is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in photoaging, skin cancer, acne, rashes, and patch testing for allergic contact dermatitis. She joined Bend Dermatology Clinic in September of 2008, operating out of the offices in Bend, Redmond, West Bend, and Klamath Falls, Oregon.
She came to her dermatology practice from a lifelong desire to heal others, and from spending her teenage years being treated for very severe acne. She values the compassionate, lasting relationships she forms with her patients and enjoys working with the high caliber staff at Bend Dermatology.
Since 1980, Bend Dermatology Clinic has been offering best-in-class dermatological care throughout Central Oregon – from treating skin cancer to cosmetic dermatology to managing everyday skin, hair, and nail conditions. The entire team of skin care providers offer comprehensive care that is grown in response to the needs of the community, which includes a full spectrum of general dermatologic and cosmetic services. They truly care about empowering patients to love their skin as well as treating skin cancer and other skin conditions.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Trautman received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame where she graduated summa cum laude. She completed her medical degree at the University of Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then returned to the Northwest in 2005 and in 2008, completing her three-year residency in dermatology at Oregon Health Science University.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.

A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.
Active in the community, Dr. Trautman has been involved with numerous organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Camp Sweeney, a camp for diabetic children and Bethlehem Inn, a safe haven for the homeless.
Described as a well-rounded, adventure-loving person who adores people and her work, she enjoys designing jewelry, playing the guitar and banjo, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two preteen boys which includes a lot of travel baseball and basketball.
