Which nerves cause headaches?
Headaches can be caused by many different issues - dehydration, lack of sleep, certain foods, muscle contraction, food sensitivity, dehydration, cervical bony degeneration or trauma, disc disease like seen with neck pain, or issues with trigeminal nerve, the 5th cranial nerve. There are many treatments, lifestyle changes should include good sleep and stress management, whole foods and proper hydration. Make sure you do a food and symptom diary to see which foods may be triggering your headaches, if any. Also make sure to include magnesium supplementation, which helps many headache patients. There are also many other therapies that include medications, physical therapy and many other modalities. start with your primary care physician, and later may need to see a neurologist. Best of luck, but seriously, look into lifestyle changes and magnesium supplement and try not to take pain meds regularly as these tend to cause something called "rebound headaches," which basically mean you have headaches from taking too many pain meds, as these wear off, they trigger more pain. Hope this helps. READ MORE
What foods to avoid if you have gastritis?
The most important thing is to avoid acidic foods, increase caffeine and carbonated beverages, tomato based products and eating late at night, within a couple of hours of bedtime. In addition if you smoke or drink alcohol, these cause increase acidity and decrease inability of the flap between esophagus and stomach from opening and closing appropriately. Weight loss helps as well to decrease gastritis, as does not wearing tight belts and closing. If you have issues with weight loss and swallowing, you must see a doctor. And if this is recurrent and runs in family, you may want to check for a bacteria that causes gastritis. Lastly, do not overuse over the counter medications for gastritis and if symptoms have been going on over 10 days stop these and see a physician. It is not safe to take these long term. READ MORE
