Peter J. Joson, MD, is a Board-Certified glaucoma and cataract specialist at the Tayani Eye Institute in San Clemente, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead, California. He has known his calling since age 13, when he first tried on a pair of glasses and was astounded by all he could see. Dr. Joson trained with Dr. Robert Ritch, a leader in the glaucoma, during his fellowship at the prestigious NY Eye and Ear Infirmary. The author of numerous papers and articles in scientific journals about glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, he has served as a clinical instructor at the Veterans' Administration Medical Center in Long Beach, California. A founding member of the Orange County Glaucoma Society, Dr. Joson also does philanthropic work for the Illumination Foundation and Remote Area Medical. He emphasizes the team effort involved in treating glaucoma and other eye diseases; only by taking care of themselves can a patient effectively treat their disease.
