Can toothache cause an earache?
Yes, it is possible that a toothache presents itself as an earache. With the proper diagnoses, the dentist can find out which tooth is causing the problem. If the teeth are healthy, then the earache is from ear inflammation or infection, it presents itself as pain, especially in the upper teeth, on the same side. Only because of close proximity! Can I drink water after wisdom teeth removal?
I don't see why not? but please don't drink from a straw for the first day after the extraction, please. since drinking from a straw may disturb the blood clot in the extraction sockets and cause you to have exposed bone. What should I do if my dentures feel loose?
Usually, after wearing the denture for a while the tissue and bone supporting the denture have some remodeling, called resorption making the denture feel loose. That requires adding some more denture acrylic material inside the denture to make it closely fitting to the tissue. In some cases, it may be necessary to use some dental implants to make the dentures more stable. Only the dentist can determine what needs to be done to make the denture fits better, by relining the one you have, making a new one or using dental implants to improve the stability of your denture! Can I have surgery to fix TMJ?
Why are you asking to have surgery before you exhaust all your other options, to help you manage your TMJ problem? First of all, how did you get your condition diagnosed? Is it self-diagnosed or a dentist-recommended surgery? Your TMJ problem could be because your teeth are not aligned correctly and your bite needs improvements. Maybe braces or Invisalign would be needed. Maybe you clench your teeth. You may be able to check if a muscle relaxant is needed. In moderate to severe cases, a Medrol dose pack, a course of steroids, for five days may help alleviate the immediate need for pain relief. Sometimes an occlusal mouth guard fabricated in the dental office by a good dentist would help you out to make it feel better. It's not a cure, but it certainly is worth giving a try! I am getting abscesses in my infected tooth. How do I treat them?
Now that you have an abscess,your dentist will recommend that the tooth would need an endodontic treatment, which is the removal of the infected, inner, soft tissue located in the middle of the root, called the pulp and replace it with a filling material. Then your tooth will become healthy again.It will also require a cap (a crown), to protect it from breakage. If the abscess is causing any swelling or fever, an antibiotic treatment of choice would be Amoxicillin unless you have penicillin allergy, antibiotic to take would be Clindamycin. The bite needs to be checked first, may be the restoration placed inside it is too high. If after the adjustments, you don't get immediate relief from that pain, you can consider other reasons for the pain. The tooth could have one or more accessory canals, that were not cleaned and properly filled. Yes, it's ok to extract these two teeth. He is very close to loosing them naturally anyway. They are changed between five to seven years of age, to give room to his adult teeth to erupt. No need for an appliance to keep the space. READ MORE
Do I have to be numb?
Numbing actually is not an unpleasent experience in our office, I place a cream, on the tissue, before the anesthesia is applied, this cream is very profound, prescription strength, mint or grape flavored, you would not even feel or know if you got an injection or not. (not the topical anesthetic used by majority of dentists) You should be very comfortable during the entire procidure, depending on the size of the filling and the amount of the work required to be done. You need an excellent job with minimal or no discomfort. If the filling is tiny and can be done without numbing, why not ? But if the filling can last for many more years, would still look like new, if both, you and the dentist are relaxed, by you being numb, you should be numb then. I hope this answered your question.
