Dr. Charles MacLean Peniston, MD, FRCS(C), FACS, is a highly trained and qualified surgeon with an extensive expertise in all facets of his work. Dr. Charles MacLean Peniston has been in practice for more than two decades and is currently serving patients within his own private practice in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Peniston’s career in medicine began in 1981 when he graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. Following the completion of his Medical Degree, he completed an internship at Queens University and residency at the University of Toronto. He remained at the University of Toronto to undertake his fellowship training in cardiac surgery.
Working within Southlake Regional Health Centre, Dr. Peniston serves as the Head of the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) program. He is renowned across Canada as an expert in adult heart surgery, and he stays current with the latest advances in his field by remaining an active member of many professional organizations including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Canadian Medical Association, and the Ontario Medical Association. He attributes his success to the support of his parents, who were excellent role models.
