What are the different types of braces, and which is best for me?
It all depends on factors such as age, growth or non growth ( adults),airway and expectations. There is the conventional with wires and brackets and then there is the Invisalign- clear aligners that can move teeth to straighten but not necessarily give the best occlusion. Can gingivitis be fixed?
Gingivitis is the earliest stage of Periodontal or Gum Disease. If it is truly Gingivitis it is reversible. It is only swollen or bleeding gums from lack of or inadequate brushing and flossing and regular visits to the dentist and hygienist. If there is bone loss then it is no longer gingivitis but gum disease ( involves bone loss and bone cannot be regenerated but could be stabilized and in some cases bone can be added to correct the defects. How long do fillings last?
Generally fillings can last from 3-5-10 years depending where the filling is, what material is being used and the force of your bite and your diet ( eat a lot of hard foods, chewing ice, etc) READ MORE
Can a tooth abscess be seen on an X-ray?
Yes, it can especially if it's been infected for a while. There is an electric device - pulp tester that passes a small charge through the tooth and if the nerve is necrotic or "dead", he won't feel the tingle. Other signs include discolored enamel and a periodic bubble above the tooth high up under his lip. READ MORE
