Amarillo Cancer Center is a comprehensive cancer center located in the heart of Amarillo, enabling patients to receive high-quality care while staying close to their work, home, family, and vital support network. Staffed with knowledgeable and supportive teams, the majority of care is provided in an outpatient setting using customized therapies ranging from chemotherapy and radiation therapy to advanced technologies like immunotherapy, targeted therapy, genetic testing, and genomic sequencing. Diagnostic imaging including advanced breast imaging, PET CT, high resolution CT, laboratory services, and a pharmacy are close-at-hand to make the process more manageable.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Tumula graduated with his medical degree from Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences in India in 2002. He then went on to perform his internship and residency in internal medicine at Hackensack Meridian Health Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, New Jersey in 2011. This was followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Boston University Medical Center in Massachusetts in 2015.
With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
