What do you attribute your success to?
When I was about five to six years old, I remember giving medicine to my grandmother. She said, “You are going to be a very good doctor.”
When I told my parents that I want to be a doctor, they were very supportive, especially my father. I am very grateful to my grandmother, to my parents, all my family, my husband, my son (who is now a physician and an MPP), and my grandchildren (who are 13 years old, Shamsa Mussarrat Qaadri; and 11 year old grandson, Shafiq Qaadri, Jr.).
This was not very common to allow girls to become professionals and to go abroad for post-graduate studies. I am especially grateful to my parents and my father for allowing me to pursue my goals and to be the best I can be.
