Arizona Kidney Disease & Hypertension Centers (AKDHC) is one of the nation’s largest groups of physicians specializing in the care of patients with renal disease including chronic kidney disease (CKD), vascular access management, dialysis, transplantation and clinical research. Since 1976, AKDHC has enjoyed the trust and respect of the community and has grown to provide services throughout Arizona. Its goal is to provide the most advanced treatments and state-of-the-art technologies with compassion and caring.
A 1997 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Dr. Whittman went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in 2000. He then completed his fellowship within the Department of Nephrology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 2002.
That same year, the doctor attained board certification in nephrology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Delivering comprehensive, expert care in collaboration with each of his patients, Dr. Whittman is affiliated with Banner - University Medical Center South, Banner - University Medical Center Tucson, Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital.
