Brian J. Riegel, MD, FACC joined Buffalo Medical Group in May 2016. Since entering private practice in 2003, Dr. Riegel has enjoyed taking care of patients in the outpatient and hospital settings, both in terms of cardiac disease management as well as prevention. Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease as well as Nuclear Cardiology, Dr. Riegel offers expertise in the fields of clinical cardiology and non-invasive cardiovascular imaging.
A western New York native, Dr. Riegel attended St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and Canisius College prior to obtaining his medical degree from the State Univerisity of New York at Buffalo in 1996. Internship, residency and chief medical residency in Internal Medicine were completed at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center of Boston, MA. and he returned to the University at Buffalo for cardiology fellowship training. From 2003-2016, Dr. Riegel was a member of Buffalo Cardiology and Pulmonary Associates, PC and was the Director of Nuclear Cardiology and Radiation Safety Officer for several years. He has served as volunteer Clinical Instructor for U.B. School of Medicine, as well as District Councilor for the New York State Chapter of American College of Cardiology.
Areas of interest include Sports Cardiology and Cardio-Oncology.
Dr. Riegel enjoys physical fitness and has completed multiple Tough Mudder challenges
